Message So a very good friend of mine works as a news anchor at the local FOX affiliate. Since he knows I am a car nut he called me on Tuesday to give me a heads up that he was having some exotics coming by the studio for part of their morning show. He invited me to to come by take all the pictures I wanted and maybe sit in a few. So who could say no to that? so Wednesday morning I was there and here are a few of the pics.

The organization is called World Class Driving ( [ http://worldclassdriving.com/ ] ) and they travel through out the U.S. giving people the opportunity to drive these exotic machines on public roads. The guy that runs it is Didier Theys and he is a very cool cat. Turns out he was a professional driver for over 30 years and knew a thing or two about Nissan.

Trying the Lamborghini LP560 out for size:

Everything about this car is so amazing. I could have sat in this thing the entire day.

Next I sat in the 599 and oh baby what a beautiful car. The fit and finish, the leather oh man I will never forget the smell of the leather. Just a gorgeous machine.

My wife trying it out for size:

Pretty good so far no? ok then came the Mercedes McLaren SLR

The cars getting ready to leave :-(

And so with that I thought hell that was pretty damn good way to start a day. Saw some gorgeous machines, took some pics let's go back to reality. Well life is funny sometimes and things happen that make you realize how blessed you really are.

My freind Ernie called me and here was the conversation.
Ernie "Luis"
-
Me "What's up E?"
-
Ernie "Well we have 2 spots for this afternoon to drive the cars but unfortunately we only have one person that can go (stuck in t.v. production meetings), do you want the other?"
-
Me "Let me see? hell yeah!"

So I dropped everything and ran off to meet up with the WCD crew. The setup is really 1st class. They provide you lunch and then go over their rules. Pretty common sense stuff and if you accept it sign off and give them your DL and insurance you are good to go.

It works like this. They give you a print out with the driving schedule and what car you will drive when. First up for me the Lambo LP560. If this is a dream please don't let me wake up. Anyway the car handled amazingly. The power was instant and the sound of the V10 was unreal. The car actually was more refined than I thought it would be.

Second car up for me was the 599. Damn what a machine. Just what I thought and dreamed a Ferrari would be like. Powerful, beautiful and handled like a dream.

On one of our stops to switch cars:

After the Lambo and the 599 I got the F430. Now to say this car was an assault on all my senses would be an understatement. This car has ruined me for life. I will always look to this beauty as what other cars should be. It had so many cool noises coming from this thing I was in heaven. The engine was right behind me just screaming and baby did I have a grin from ear to ear. The power was fantastic, the paddle shifters were very cool and I hate to say this but I did not miss the stick one bit.

Oh baby does this thing scream. I can't say enough about it.

I also drove the Masserati. Great car but after driving the F430 it felt I was driving any avg luxury car.

Last but not least was the SLR. The car was a beast. It actually sounded like an American muscle car. Beautiful to look at and fun to drive. A german version of the American muscle car.

Riding shotgun back to the hotel

And with that the day was over. The guys gave us some goodie bags with a cool crystal sculpture and then sent us back to reality. I must tell you that if you can do this I highly recommend it. This will be an experience you will never forget for the rest of your life.
